Do you sell or install chargers?
No. We are an independent engineering firm — we don't sell hardware, we don't resell network software, and we don't provide installation labor. That means when we tell you a site needs a service upgrade, or that it doesn't, there's nothing riding on the answer but our reputation. If you need an installer, we're happy to point you toward contractors we've worked with.
What do you need from me to start?
At minimum: the site address, how many chargers and at what power level, and photos of the existing electrical service. Single-line diagrams, as-builts, or a recent utility bill help us move faster. If you don't have any of that, we can still scope the work — it just may need a site visit.
How long does a permit set take?
Most Level 2 commercial sets run a couple of weeks from kickoff; Level 3 sites take longer, largely because utility coordination runs on the utility's schedule rather than ours. We give you a real timeline in the proposal, not an optimistic one.
What does it cost?
We quote a fixed fee per project rather than hourly, because it depends heavily on site complexity, charger count, and whether a service upgrade is involved. The scoping call is free and we'll give you a number in writing before you commit to anything.
Do you work outside California?
Our PE license is California, and our practical knowledge of AHJs, Title 24, and CALGreen is California-specific. We serve the entire state. For projects elsewhere, we'd rather refer you to someone licensed locally than stamp something outside our competence.
Our last permit set came back with comments. Can you help?
Yes, this is a common reason people call us. Send us the plan check comments and the existing drawings and we'll tell you honestly whether it's a revision or a redraw.
